Hello Investors!
The big news today was the recent jobs report for September which showed a 254,000 increase in jobs with a 4.1% unemployment rate. Let us conclude that there are a lot of jobs, but no workers to fill those positions. Most of the labor market are either looking for a specific niche job, people who like to take advantage of our government, or workers that cannot be relied on to show up to work. It has come down to people that do not take working seriously because of the new mind set social media viewers see on the internet. There are still a handful that actually take working seriously because they need to provide for their family and put food on the table. I am hoping that our economy starts to recover, and that people realize that working helps the economy to lower inflation rates.
This paycheck I was able to purchase three shares of Apple which means I only have 18 more shares before I hit my 1,000-share goal. I am very excited, but I am 100% sure that I will not hit my goal before 2025. I was not able to buy more shares of VOO since I was a little short of the market price. On the bright side three of my Vanguard ETFs paid out their dividends this month which helped me hit 70 shares in VOO. I am hoping that my Traditional IRA produces more dividends, so that I can purchase one more share of Apple before I turn off the DRIP for that account. I only contribute to my Traditional IRA when I rollover previous job IRAs that I open up to get the company matches.
I am going to try to post more blogs with a goal of 2-3 blogs a week. I try to plan ahead of what my blogs will be about, so this goal of mine might be a slower process than I would like it to be. But stay tuned for more content!
Until next time…Have a wonderful weekend and remember it is never too late to start investing!
